Renée Dennison is Dine (Navajo) and was raised on the Navajo Reservation in a small community, Tohatchi, New Mexico. She is born to the Ta'neeszahnii (Tangle people) and for the Kinyaa'áanii (Towering House people). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at the University of Maryland and her Master’s degree (MBA) in finance at George Washington University while working for various Native American organizations in Washington, DC. Ten years later, she moved to Phoenix, continuing her work with Tribal governments at the Ak-Chin and the Gila River Indian communities. To pursue her creative and artistic aspirations, she enrolled at ASU for her MFA in photography.
