•••Light:wave••• // an installation by Eunique Yazzie
•••Light:wave••• is a visual representation of how energy flows, moves, is seen, and felt. It is the electromagnetic wave we ride all our lives as we revolve around the changing modes of our sun and moon. It is what we look for in distant galaxies deep within our dark universe. It is the hope that we wish to see in our loved ones eyes and the clarity we search for within ourselves. Light can be defined as a noun, a verb and an adjective allowing it to be anything and everything all at once. Yazzie says, “I am fascinated with reflection, brilliance, and color; all elements I tried to pull together in these pieces. As a young person growing up on a reservation in northern Arizona one of my favorite things to sing was, ‘This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine...’ And to this day it still resonates through art. Let’s get lit people!”
