Celebrate Día del Niño

Join the Heard Museum as we celebrate the youth with, Children’s Day, Día del Niño, a day-long program with music, food, family activities, Folklorico performances, music in the courtyard, and so much more! FREE admission to the museum for children 12 and under with up to two accompanying parents or guardians! Bring the entire family out for a day of fun, arts, storytelling, music, dance, food, and activities for kids of all ages!

Art Activities

  • Xico Gallery will be here all day, come join them and make a print to take home.

  • Sana Sana Foods will be here doing a food demonstration. Stop by and learn about indigenous foods, and try to make your own tortilla!

  • Try your hand at making your own clay doll, with guest artist/demonstrator Yolanda Hart- Stevens.

  • Native Health will be tabling and providing fun activities for children.

  • In the Amphitheater, join Royce Manuel as he presents a bow and arrow demonstration. Learn about what goes into creating a bow and arrow and then get a chance to try it out!

Live Performances

11 AM and 1PM Harmony Project

Come listen to over 30 children musicians fill the campus with music.

12 PM and 2PM Ballet  Folklorico Itzamatul Del Valle Del Sol

Experience Folkllorico dance, and see these amazing dancers perform.

11:45 AM 12:45 PM Story time

Come spend some time in the museum and sit down for a story with Violet Duncan.

1:30PM and 3PM

Come join Ms. Lucy for 30 minute sessions of kids-only yoga.

Food

  • Enjoy tasty specials all day long from the Heard’s Cafe and Cantina

  • Yummy paletas from Paletas Betty

  • Delicious hand made, plant-based ancestral food by Sana Sana
